How to Tackle It All
I start my day at 7:30 get ready and read my Bible and around 8:00-8:30 I start my school (math, English, science, history, penmanship, geography, and spelling) since the new school year I've been doing more school and it takes me a lot longer than it used to! A few months ago it took me about two hours to finish all my school but now it takes about four to four and a half hours! I normally finish around 12:00 to 12:30 and go to some chores (dishes, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, etc). They normally take no longer than an hour to complete and then I eat lunch. Once that's done I get on the computer and work on whatever is the present task, most of the time there's more than one! Today I have two stories to complete and this post to write and I have to take pictures for two different posts, not to mention my other blogs! I just have to choose what's most important I get that done as soon as possible. Today that was writing this post, but every day is different, some days I would even get on the computer cause I busy with other stuff. Once I'm done on the computer I'll make dinner (only on Monday and Thursday) and if I'm not making dinner I'll use this time to read or do a light workout or sometimes I'll be lazy and watch some Youtube movies that have been piling up in my "watch later". And then we eat dinner and Matthew and I clean up together. And finally, after dinner, we all relax and watch a fun movie or show.
So that's my day, and I'm sure it's not as crazy as some people but considering that all my life I've had an over abundance of time this is a full day.
Even though my day is pretty full I've found several ways to make my day less crazy and way more organized!
1. Decide what's most important. As I said above, every day I have several things to do but I have to make time only for the most important and then the others come next. Plan out what you need to get done that day and what can wait until tomorrow and schedule your projects out.
2. Take away distractions. Don't let yourself go on Youtube or Instagram until you finish this. It really helps keep you motivated! And other distractions could be people, other projects, food, or your adorable pet. For people just try to work in a room where they not at the moment. Other projects can be really hard, just remember that you can't do the other task until you finish this one. Food is a strong struggle for me. Now obviously I don't starve myself, but when it's an hour to lunch and I see some cookies on the counter I'm so tempted I completely lose focus! Putting the cookies in the cupboard isn't hard at all and then you won't cheat on your diet. =D Or if your cat or dog is constantly wanting to be held... well I haven't figured this one out, but if you have tips please share! =P
3. Get motivation. Before you start or if your stuck read a motivational blog post or watch a quick video. Don't get too distracted but getting motivated really helps you be more creative!
4. Tackle the hardest first. If there isn't a specific order to your work, do it starting with the hardest and then go from there. You could to a hard task and then do an easier one, this is what I do for my chores and it really works!
I know it can be hard to tackle a lot in a day, but these tips are tired and true so hopefully they'll help you too!
Bye!
